A little bit of background…

I distinctly remember taking my first photograph with a used Nikkormat some 18 years ago. From that moment on, I knew photography would become a natural extension in which I was able to share the unique way I saw the world. While earning my BFA in Graphic Design, I became even more focused on developing my photographic talent, eventually leading to a 13-year career as an award-winning Creative Director. I draw a great deal of inspiration from the many leading artists, photographers and designers I’ve been fortunate enough to work alongside and art direct. I truly feel this path has crafted the photographer that I am today.

Many people say my work has an organic style to it, that I’m able to capture the essence of the person or place that I’m photographing. To me, that is my utmost goal — to convey a visual story true of character and form.

To accomplish this, I shoot both film and digital — my bag is my toolkit and each scenario proves different. Digital allows a quickness to my abilities, but film will always bring a romantic quality to an image, which is the basis of my ongoing work.

Because of my business background, I take pride in the customer experience — striving to create lasting relationships beyond the click of the shutter. My brides become fast friends — our journey together can take us from the engagement shoot to the altar, and perhaps even to a newborn shoot.
