This wedding was near and dear to my heart, as I have known Kirk for over ten years… we met as colleagues when we worked for a small boutique design firm, and I have always been so honored to work alongside such an insanely talented illustrator and designer. Karin and Kirk are seriously a gifted power-couple, as she works in the motion-picture industry in New York, a photographer herself as well. It was so lovely to photograph a couple that not only loves film, but appreciates such beauty around them. When we were shooting down by the lake, the skies began to drizzle, and I remember Karin looking up and saying, “Isn’t this wonderful, the light here is like a giant soft box!”. And it was… purples to blues to hazy whites… It’s funny, sometimes a little rain on your wedding day can be the perfect addition.
Buffy - Beautiful set of images, Ali! I especially love the romance of the photo of the couple secluded behind the fern. Your work is stunning.
andrea - I need the story on the chickens atop the cake!
That locket and note were so sweet.
Another breathtaking shoot ALI!!!!!!
:)
Dawn Gahan - One of my favorite of all your wedding shoots. You captured the couple and all their little details with an eye that made me read the post 4, maybe 5 times, just to soak it all in. You da bomb, missy.
