If you’ve visited this blog in the past year, you’ve probably noticed a theme emerging: our frequent trips to the Serenbe community.

A few months ago, Matt and I actually realized a dream of ours: building a home there. In fact it has been more than a year of dreaming, planning and saving… which ultimately brought us to taking one giant leap of faith. We are more than thrilled; we are so very thankful and blessed. It will be such an amazing opportunity for Ali Harper Photography and I’m so looking forward to seeing where it all leads.

During my last shoot, I was startled to find 10 horses had snuck up behind me to watch me shoot. They were so inquisitive and loved it when I snapped photos of them – practically posing together like family.

By sheer happenstance, the amazingly talented and ridiculous sweet Jess (who I luckily met during the FIND workshop) and her hubby were vacationing in San Juan the same days we were. Obviously, that was the best excuse ever to shoot some film down by the marina & out by the orcas. Yes, we actually saw a giant pool of them while we were shooting…

Plus, she makes the most perfect smirk ever.

After that violent storm a few days ago, my gardenia bush fell over from the weight of the rain & wind so we’ve been hastily bringing the blooms inside to enjoy. I hope you’re having a lovely extended weekend… mine will be filled with family & kids, fireworks & hotdogs, short hikes and lazy afternoons…
