{ engagement story } part 2: maryruth & michael

January 12th, 2010 § 0

Before we got a little reprieve from the cold by escaping to the Waffle House, we decided to take some photos around their home and a nearby lake, which just happened to be partly frozen over. Yes, I think we shot on the coldest day possible — snow-covered ground, ice underfoot, and red noses. Luckily, we had a few hats and mittens to spare!

{ engagement story } part 1: falling in love at a waffle house

January 11th, 2010 § 2

I’ve known MaryRuth for a little while now — so when she was telling me about her beau, and explaining that they “fell in love at a Waffle House”, I was a little shocked! Mainly because I don’t really think of Waffle Houses as the most romantic of places, but hey, you can’t stop love! Thankfully, MaryRuth and Michael indulged me and my camera and let me drag them there for a quick vintage shoot to help them tell their story. This particular Waffle House had it’s own juke box… so there’s now no denying that you can totally get your groove on while enjoying some smattered, covered and smothered hash browns. Let the love sing on.

Stay tuned for more delicious shots of them around their home and nearby park…

follow

I certainly hope that you have followed me on this wild ride. Not sure of where everything is leading just yet, but it sure is exciting, don’t you think? I know, I will miss Flibberty as well, so I’ve placed an archive link (over on the right side of the page) so you can visit it if so desired. That said, here are some things to look forward to on the new & improved blog:

- “from the archives fridays”
- inspired photo finds
- behind the scenes shoots
- more “personal” work

Oh, and much bigger photos!

(Quick note: You can leave comments simply by clicking on the swirly image next to the date at the top of the post. I’m working on making the comment link a bit more apparent since it is quite hidden, but have to teach myself a bit more coding in WordPress to do so — please bear with me while I get a little more comfortable with my new template!)

Where Am I?
